Job Summary

The Inventory Officer will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory records, monitoring stock levels, coordinating stock movement, and ensuring that products are properly received, stored, recorded, and replenished.

The role requires strong attention to detail, computer literacy, good numerical skills, and the ability to maintain accurate inventory records.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and maintain accurate records of all supermarket inventory.

Receive and inspect incoming goods and verify quantities against invoices and delivery notes.

Record all stock received, issued, transferred, damaged, expired, or returned.

Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile them with inventory records.

Monitor stock levels and identify items that need replenishment.

Track fast-moving, slow-moving, damaged, and expired products.

Ensure products are properly arranged, labelled, and stored.

Monitor product expiry dates and take appropriate action to minimize losses.

Investigate and report stock discrepancies, shortages, or excesses.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory databases and records.

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.

Coordinate with the purchasing and sales teams to ensure adequate stock availability.

Assist with stock forecasting and replenishment planning.

Monitor stock movement in and out of the supermarket.

Ensure proper documentation for all inventory transactions.

Support periodic stocktaking and audits.

Identify and report cases of stock damage, wastage, theft, or loss.

Ensure compliance with the supermarket''s inventory control procedures.

Keep inventory records organized and readily accessible.

Assist management in improving stock control processes and reducing inventory losses.

Requirements

BSc / HND in Accounting, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Economics, or a related field.

Previous experience in inventory management, stock control, retail, supermarket operations, or a related role.

Must be computer literate and comfortable using Microsoft Excel and other inventory management tools.

Strong numerical and analytical skills.

Good record-keeping and documentation skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to identify and resolve stock discrepancies.

Good organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced retail environment.

Honest, responsible, and trustworthy.

Strong sense of accountability and attention to company assets.

Must be willing to work 6 days a week.
