Job Summary
The Intermediate Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing general ledger accounts, supporting monthly and annual financial closings, preparing tax declarations, and ensuring efficient financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries, vouchers, invoices, and financial documents.
Perform monthly bank, cash, and account reconciliations.
Assist with monthly and annual financial closing procedures and prepare trial balances and financial reports.
Monitor accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
Support payroll-related accounting and statutory deductions.
Prepare applicable tax declarations and ensure timely regulatory compliance.
Assist with budgeting, cash-flow monitoring, and financial analysis.
Maintain audit-ready financial documentation and support internal and external audits.
Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (ACCA, CPA, or professional accounting certification is an added advantage).
Experience
2–4 years of relevant accounting experience in a corporate environment.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and Ethiopian tax laws.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, MS Office, and accounting software/ERP systems.
Strong analytical, numerical, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
