Job Description
The ICT / Technical Drawing / Basic Technology Teacher will be responsible for delivering effective, practical, and engaging lessons that develop pupils’ technological knowledge, digital literacy, creativity, problem-solving abilities, and practical skills.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging lessons in ICT, Technical Drawing, and Basic Technology according to the school’s curriculum and scheme of work.
Prepare lesson plans, lesson notes, instructional materials, practical activities, assignments, projects, tests, and examinations.
Teach pupils appropriate computer skills, digital literacy, and the responsible use of technology.
Introduce pupils to basic computer operations, software applications, typing, internet safety, and other age-appropriate ICT concepts.
Teach basic principles of technology, tools, materials, simple machines, safety practices, and practical applications.
Teach Technical Drawing concepts, including basic drawing techniques, shapes, lines, lettering, dimensioning, and interpretation of simple technical drawings.
Organise practical activities and demonstrations that reinforce classroom learning.
Assess pupils’ understanding through classwork, practical exercises, projects, tests, and examinations.
Monitor pupils’ academic progress and provide additional support where necessary.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, practical work, and pupils’ performance.
Ensure that ICT equipment, tools, drawing materials, and other instructional resources are used appropriately and safely.
Maintain a safe, organised, and conducive learning environment, particularly during practical lessons.
Encourage creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and innovation among pupils.
Identify pupils’ individual learning needs and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
Participate in school activities, staff meetings, training programmes, clubs, projects, and extracurricular activities.
Work collaboratively with other teachers and school management to achieve academic and administrative objectives.
Maintain professional standards in conduct, punctuality, appearance, classroom management, and communication.
Perform other teaching-related duties assigned by the school management.
