Job Summary

The HR Executive will support and coordinate the effective delivery of the organisation’s human resources operations, employee lifecycle management, performance management, employee engagement, and compliance.

The role will ensure that HR processes are consistently implemented, employees are properly supported, and management receives timely and accurate people-related information for decision-making.

Responsibilities

HR Operations & Employee Administration:

Manage day-to-day HR operations and ensure compliance with established HR policies and procedures.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, HR databases, personnel files, and documentation.

Manage employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, confirmation, transfers, promotions, leave, disciplinary actions, and exit processes.

Prepare HR letters, memos, contracts, and other employee documentation.

Monitor attendance, punctuality, leave, and other employee administration matters.

Recruitment & Onboarding:

Coordinate recruitment activities from job posting and candidate screening through interviews, selection, and onboarding.

Work with hiring managers to understand manpower requirements and ensure timely filling of vacancies.

Conduct onboarding and ensure new employees receive the required documentation, orientation, and workplace information.

Maintain an effective recruitment pipeline for critical and recurring positions.

Performance Management:

Coordinate the organisation’s performance management and appraisal processes.

Track employee KPIs, targets, probation/confirmation reviews, and performance improvement plans.

Follow up with managers and employees on performance reviews and ensure timely completion.

Identify performance gaps and support managers in implementing appropriate corrective actions.

Employee Relations & Engagement:

Serve as a first point of contact for employee-related concerns and HR enquiries.

Support the resolution of employee grievances, conflicts, and workplace issues.

Promote positive employee relations, teamwork, accountability, and adherence to company values.

Support employee engagement activities and initiatives that improve morale, retention, and workplace culture.

HR Compliance & Policy Implementation:

Ensure compliance with company policies, employment terms, and applicable labour regulations.

Communicate HR policies and ensure employees understand and adhere to them.

Support disciplinary and corrective action processes in line with company policy and due process.

Identify HR risks and escalate significant employee or compliance issues to management.

Payroll & Benefits Administration:

Provide accurate monthly payroll inputs including attendance, leave, deductions, allowances, new hires, exits, and other changes.

Liaise with Finance to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.

Maintain employee information relating to compensation, benefits, and statutory requirements.

Support the administration of employee welfare and benefit programmes.

HR Reporting & Analytics:

Prepare regular HR reports covering headcount, recruitment, turnover, attendance, leave, performance, employee movements, and other HR metrics.

Maintain accurate HR data and provide insights to support management decision-making.

Track HR activities, deadlines, and outstanding employee-related actions.

Learning, Development & Culture:

Identify training and development needs in collaboration with managers.

Coordinate internal and external training programmes and maintain training records.

Support initiatives focused on employee development, organisational culture, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.

3–5 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in a structured or fast-paced organisation.

Professional HR certification such as CIPM, or equivalent is an advantage.

Good knowledge of HR operations, employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and Nigerian employment practices.

Strong communication, interpersonal, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, and familiarity with HRIS/payroll systems.

Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
