Nigeria Public Finance Facility (NPFF): Improving public financial management
All projects are funded and governed by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), contributing to FCDO’s objectives of long-term stability, economic opportunity and effective public service delivery across Nigeria.
The Finance Officer will support the day-to-day financial operations of NPFF, NEST and SPRiNG. The role ensures accurate processing payments, maintenance of financial records, and compliance with Tetra Tech Finance Manual, donor regulations, and organisational procedures.
Main Duties
Financial Operation
Process payments to consultants and suppliers by correctly raising and coding Bank Payment Vouchers on ApprovalMax and uploading complete supporting documents.
Upload approved Bank Payment Vouchers to banking platform for approval by bank signatories.
File all approved vouchers and the relevant evidence of payments on Egnyte.
Download Evidence of Payments and share with Project Coordinators, Operations Team.
Raise WHT invoices and vouchers for remittance to the relevant tax boards as mandated by law and safe evidence of payments on Egnyte.
Raise Journals for acquittal of advances and correction of wrong postings as advised by the Finance Manager
Process monthly payrolls by raising payment vouchers for Net salaries and Deductions.
Assist the Finance Manager on any ad-hoc work including sourcing documents during internal and external audits.
Compliance & Records
Ensure that all financial records are filed properly and in a timely manner.
Provide accurate and timely responses to internal and external audit enquiries.

Essential
Demonstrable, sustained experience in recurring accounting and finance activities, with a proven track record of delivering these responsibilities independently.
Strong accounting, finance and administration skills.
Experience supporting the preparation of financial reports.
Experience supporting management and reconciliation of multi-country and multi-currency finances.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, and demonstrable experience working with finance and non-finance employees.
Being able to prioritise and work with multiple stakeholders.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
Desirable
Experience working on UK donor (FCDO) funded projects.
Full or part-qualified accountant.
Experience working with QuickBooks.
Experience working with Approval Max.
Qualifications
A university degree (or equivalent) in accounting or financial management.
