The Farm Supervisor will serve as the
primary agronomist on the farm
and will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of all farm activities. The role will involve working closely with the Director and other farm workers to implement the vision and operational objectives of the business.
The ideal candidate must be
self-driven, practical, responsible, and willing to take ownership of farm operations
. The Farm Manager will also be expected to ensure that farm resources, labour, inputs, and activities are efficiently managed and optimized.
The farm is primarily engaged in the cultivation of
vegetables, cassava, and maize
.
Responsibilities
Provide daily supervision and oversight of all farm activities.
Plan farm operations and ensure effective utilization of labour, inputs, equipment, and other resources.
Manage crop production activities, including land preparation, planting, crop maintenance, harvesting, and post-harvest handling.
Serve as the farm''s primary agronomist and provide practical guidance on crop management.
Supervise farm workers and ensure assigned tasks are properly carried out.
Monitor crop performance and identify issues relating to pests, diseases, soil conditions, irrigation, or other production challenges.
Supervise harvesting, processing, storage, and movement of farm produce.
Maintain accurate records of farm activities, production, inputs, harvests, labour, and other relevant information.
Requirements
Minimum of
1–5 years'' experience in crop farming and farm management
.
Practical experience in
vegetable farming
will be an added advantage.
Experience with cassava and maize production will also be beneficial.
Minimum qualification of
OND, HND, or B.Sc. in Agriculture, Agronomy, Crop Production, or a related discipline
.
Good practical knowledge of crop production and general farm operations.
Good record-keeping and basic reporting skills.
Mature and experienced candidates with strong practical farming knowledge are also encouraged to apply.
