We''re looking for an experienced professional to lead our Asset Finance function in a microfinance institution. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, managing, and growing the Bank''s asset finance portfolio while ensuring effective asset management and strong customer relationships. The role involves sourcing and evaluating asset finance opportunities, structuring facilities, monitoring financed assets, managing portfolio performance, and ensuring compliance with the Bank''s policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategies to grow the Bank''s asset finance portfolio in line with its business objectives and risk appetite.
Identify, source, and develop relationships with prospective customers requiring financing for vehicles, equipment, machinery, and other productive assets.
Review and assess asset finance applications, including customers'' financial capacity, creditworthiness, repayment ability, and business performance.
Structure appropriate asset finance facilities in line with customers'' needs, the Bank''s credit policy, and approved risk parameters.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, asset vendors, dealers, manufacturers, and strategic business partners.
Monitor the performance of the asset finance portfolio and ensure timely repayment of facilities.
Review market trends and recommend improvements to the Bank''s asset finance products, pricing, processes, and customer acquisition strategies.
Drive portfolio profitability while maintaining acceptable credit quality and minimizing non-performing facilities.
Requirements
Bachelor''s Degree or HND in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, CIBN, CFA, or other relevant qualifications will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 5 years'' experience in Asset Finance, Credit, Lending, Relatio
Proven experience in managing and growing an asset finance or lending portfolio.
Strong knowledge of credit appraisal, financial analysis, loan structuring, and credit risk management.
Good understanding of asset finance products, collateral management, and loan monitoring practices.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other relevant financial management tools.
