Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical/Mechanical Technician to join our team in Port Harcourt.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing electrical and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical faults.
Repair, replace, and maintain faulty electrical components, motors, pumps, machines, and mechanical systems.
Carry out installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of equipment.
Conduct regular inspections to identify potential equipment failures and maintenance needs.
Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and mechanical schematics.
Ensure machines and equipment operate safely and efficiently.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and carry out necessary repairs.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, equipment faults, and spare parts used.
Requirements
OND, HND, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Electrical/Mechanical Technician or in a similar technical maintenance role.
Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, machinery, and maintenance practices.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical faults and mechanical breakdowns effectively.
Ability to use electrical and mechanical testing and diagnostic tools.
Good understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, oil & gas, engineering, or production environment.
Knowledge of motors, pumps, compressors, generators, control panels, and other industrial equipment.
Basic knowledge of PLCs and automated systems will be an added advantage.
Good communication and documentation skills.
