Job Description
The Driver will operate company vehicles safely and efficiently while transporting goods, staff, documents, and other assigned items.
The role requires excellent knowledge of roads and traffic regulations, good vehicle-handling skills, punctuality, and a strong commitment to maintaining company vehicles and ensuring timely service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Safely transport goods, parcels, documents, staff, and other assigned items to designated locations.
Ensure all assigned deliveries and transportation activities are completed accurately and within the required timeframe.
Conduct daily checks on the vehicle before and after use.
Ensure the vehicle is clean, properly maintained, and in good working condition.
Monitor fuel levels, engine oil, tyres, brakes, lights, and other essential vehicle components.
Report vehicle faults, accidents, damages, or maintenance requirements promptly to the supervisor.
Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel usage, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance.
Assist with loading and unloading goods when required, ensuring items are handled safely.
Verify delivery documents and obtain signatures or proof of delivery where applicable.
Plan routes efficiently to avoid unnecessary delays and reduce fuel consumption.
Maintain good communication with the Operations/Supervisor regarding deliveries, delays, and other operational matters.
Comply with all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies.
Demonstrate professional and courteous behaviour when dealing with customers, vendors, and company personnel.
Maintain confidentiality regarding company information, client details, and assigned deliveries.
Ensure that company vehicles are used only for authorised purposes.
Report accidents, traffic incidents, or other unusual situations immediately.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
Education
Minimum of an SSCE/WAEC/NECO or equivalent.
Additional training in driving, vehicle maintenance, logistics, or transportation is an advantage.
Experience
2–3 years of professional driving experience.
Previous experience as a company driver, logistics driver, delivery driver, or similar role is preferred.
Experience working with a logistics, courier, transportation, distribution, or supply chain company will be an added advantage.
Experience driving company vehicles and handling goods or deliveries is desirable.
Good knowledge of the local operating area is an advantage.
Requirements
Must possess a valid driver''s licence appropriate for the vehicle to be driven.
Must have a valid means of identification.
Must have a good and responsible driving record.
Must be physically fit and capable of performing the duties required.
Must demonstrate good knowledge of road safety regulations.
Must be reliable, punctual, honest, and responsible.
Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays when required.
Must be willing to travel within and outside the assigned location when required.
Must be comfortable using GPS and navigation applications.
Previous experience in logistics, transportation, courier, or distribution will be an added advantage.
Must be willing to comply with all company safety, operational, and vehicle-use policies.
