Domestic Network Control Group Agent at DHL

Requirnment

Role Context

Domestic Network Control Agent is responsible for providing support to both internal & external customers with regards to information and services pertinent to the services group.

The ultimate goal is for complete customer satisfaction and achievement of DHL global targets/standards by following the Global SOP.

Domestic Network Control Agent performs network and administrative duties on behalf of the Domestic Network in order to process material (both inbound and outbound) and provide network and shipment information often within tight timeframes.  Load, Sort, dispatch and recovery of shipments as required.

Key Responsibilities

Working with LOS Hub, GTW, Sales, CS, SVC teams, Domestic Airlines/Agents, third party agents, third party transportation service providers, West Africa Network flight contacts,

Need to avoid materials missing cut-offs on the domestic road network, domestic network and Commercial flights

Timely departure and arrival of domestic network flight at the LOS Airports and Vans to/from different destinations in the West whilst ensuring maximum uplift of customer shipments

Occasional AOG situation of domestic network flight & CAL departure delays

Ensure that all DHL Network standards, Health and Safety, Security procedures are followed as well as all Government and Airline regulations in relation to the transport of cargo by air / road

Ensure timely response to both internal and external customer queries.

Ensure timely dissemination of flight information for the domestic network flight or CAL flights to enhance visibility during operations.

Transfer and Recovery of materials from the CAL, Agencies, 3rd Party Trucks and ensure proper handing over of these materials.

Sending pre-alert for material sent to different stations and agencies as well as confirmation of materials received on DHL domestic network flight, CAL and 3rd Party Vehicles.

Sending of report required by DHL network (e.g. NMIV, NOTOC, Left-over etc).

Ensure timely recovery of materials that could not connect the domestic flight or due to AOG and ensure such materials are bagged for alternative CAL movement.

Ensure timely processing of shipments to ensure agreed Transit Time is met.

Ensure compliance with agreed service contingency and recovery plans within the country.

Carry out any administrative task that is required for the Domestic Network Control Group and also offer operational support to the group.

Work with other team-mates to perform and complete day to day activities

upon arrival and make sure material is available to the Shuttle drivers and that left over materials are secured according to the Security policy and procedures.

Process outbound and inbound materials according to the latest processes and procedures

Capture information - and make available to the Network - information required for a shipment, piece or handling unit at the distribution centre according to the standard procedures.

Keep the process area clean and tidy and make sure it is ready for the next process cycle

Ensure that all relevant equipment is operating and take corrective actions where equipment failure and to be proactive through taking action where equipment is falling below operating standards

Expand knowledge of other roles within Operations in order to carry out these functions through a rotational shift mechanism.

Ensure that all Dangerous Goods are properly handed over at the Distribution Centre and hidden Dangerous Goods are not accepted for carriage on the DHL domestic network.

Ensure proper dressing in the standard company uniform at during operational period.

Minimum Requirements

Experience & Knowledge

Minimum of 2 years experience in DHL operations related role or within the transportation and logistics industry

Educational Qualification:

OND or its equivalent

Good knowledge of distribution operations, processes and procedures.
