Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Crewing Coordinator
with strong knowledge of
marine certification, STCW compliance, flag state requirements, and offshore personnel mobilization
.
This role requires more than administrative coordination. The successful candidate must possess a
deep understanding of marine crewing requirements
, vessel compliance standards, and the certification frameworks required to safely and compliantly mobilize marine and offshore personnel globally.
The ideal candidate understands the difference between vessel-specific, client-specific, and flag-specific requirements and can proactively identify compliance gaps before mobilization.
Key Responsibilities
Certification & Compliance (Core Focus)
Maintain and monitor crew certification records and competency matrices
Ensure full compliance with International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers requirements
Possess strong understanding of:
STCW mandatory certifications
Certificate of Competency (CoC) structures
Endorsements and revalidations
Flag state requirements
Offshore and marine-specific certification standards
Verify crew suitability based on:
vessel type,
client requirements,
flag state requirements,
project scope,
and operational area
Flag State & Regulatory Knowledge
Demonstrate strong familiarity with major flag state requirements and marine regulatory frameworks
Coordinate and monitor compliance with:
flag state regulations,
port state requirements,
client marine procedures,
and international maritime standards
Ensure crew documentation remains valid and audit-ready at all times
Certification Tracking & Renewals
Proactively track certificate validity and expiry dates
Arrange training, assessments, medicals, and renewals in advance of expiration
Coordinate with approved maritime training providers and certification bodies
Maintain accurate digital crew records and certification databases
Crewing & Mobilization
Coordinate crew mobilizations, rotations, and offshore personnel logistics
Ensure vessels and projects are staffed with compliant and qualified personnel
Liaise with crew members, operations teams, clients, and vessel representatives regarding mobilization requirements
Coordinate travel, accommodation, visas, medicals, and onboarding documentation
Required Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in:
marine crewing,
offshore personnel coordination,
or marine operations support
Proven experience coordinating offshore or vessel personnel internationally
Experience working within offshore, subsea, marine, or energy environments preferred
Required Knowledge (Essential)
The successful candidate must demonstrate strong practical understanding of:
International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers requirements and certification structures
Flag state compliance requirements
Marine/offshore mobilization processes
Crew certification validity and revalidation requirements
Offshore certifications including:
BOSIET
HUET
OGUK Medical
Marine ranks, vessel operations, and crew competency structures
Skills & Competencies
Highly detail-oriented with strong tracking and follow-up capabilities
Ability to manage multiple crew records simultaneously
Strong organizational and planning skills
Proactive approach to preventing certification lapses
Comfortable working with document management systems and Excel trackers
Preferred
Experience with marine crewing systems or HR platforms
Previous experience supporting crewing management and certification
Familiarity with classification society and client marine requirements
