Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and highly analytical Cost Accounting Manager to join our team in Addis Ababa. The successful candidate will oversee manufacturing cost accounting, inventory control, cost analysis, and related financial processes. The role will work closely with Finance, Production, Supply Chain, Warehouse, and other departments to ensure accurate cost accounting, effective inventory management, strong internal controls, and timely financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee full-cycle inventory risk management, including physical inventory reviews, slow-moving and obsolete stock evaluation, and inventory risk control strategies.
Manage and monitor SAP FI/CO cost accounting operations, including cost variance analysis, expense allocation, and variance settlement.
Organize monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory counts and supervise reconciliation of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), finished goods, and spare parts.
Monitor slow-moving and obsolete inventory and recommend appropriate provisions and cost-reduction measures.
Optimize internal controls over production receiving, issuing, and stock movements to prevent inventory losses and cost distortions.
Manage the cost accounting team and continuously improve cost accounting workflows and internal controls.
Support internal and external audits by providing required cost accounting and inventory documentation.
Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory movements, and cost variances to identify risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
Support accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes related to cost accounting and inventory.
Coordinate with Finance, Production, Supply Chain, Warehouse, and other departments to resolve costing and inventory-related issues.
About You
The ideal candidate is an analytical and detail-oriented cost accounting professional with strong manufacturing cost management experience. You should have the ability to analyze cost and inventory data, identify variances and risks, strengthen internal controls, and work effectively with multiple departments.
Job Requirements
Minimum 5 years of manufacturing cost management experience.
At least 2 years of team management experience.
Strong capability in system development, business analysis, and internal control improvement.
Familiarity with SAP FI/CO, standard cost accounting systems, and month-end closing processes.
Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis, PivotTables, and formulas.
Experience in an export-oriented manufacturing company will be highly advantageous.
Local Policy & Compliance
Proven experience in manufacturing cost accounting in Ethiopia.
Knowledge of local cost accounting practices, inventory valuation standards, and financial compliance requirements.
Strong understanding of factory cost management practices and related risks.

Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Strong data analysis, variance analysis, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and cross-department coordination skills.
