Community and Growth Manager (Ambassador Network - Field) at Shipngrab Nigeria Limited

Requisito

This is not a social media posting role. If your background is content creation, posting and community management on Instagram or TikTok, please do not apply. This is a build-the-channel role: you recruit people, certify them, make them productive, sign partnerships with real business communities, and show the numbers.

THE PROJECT

We are engaging a Community and Growth Manager on a project basis to build that channel from where it is today into a working, measurable seller-acquisition engine — and to prove it works before we scale it.

ENGAGEMENT TERMS

Type: Independent contractor / consultancy engagement — project-based, not employment.

Duration: 4 months with a defined scope and milestones, extendable or convertible to a permanent role on results.

Location: Remote, Nigeria-based. Regular field work in markets, communities and at partner events is part of the role.

Commitment: Full-time equivalent for the duration of the project.

Pay: Monthly base plus performance-based fees on the revenue you deliver. The incentive structure is agreed at interview.

Review: Results are reviewed weekly and monthly. If the agreed results are not being delivered, the Company may end the engagement.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

Four months from now, we should be able to point at a channel that did not exist before and that produces paying sellers every month.

The ambassador network

Recruit and screen ambassador candidates — active sellers, community leaders, campus organisers, micro-influencers — and take them through Shopnest''s application, training and certification funnel.

Own the funnel end to end: application quality, training completion, test pass rate, settlement account setup, and the point at which an ambassador becomes genuinely active rather than merely certified.

Coach ambassadors to their own recruitment targets, run briefings and refreshers, manage under-performance, and recommend de-certification where needed.

Run the ambassador community: campaign packs, incentive calendar, communication channel, and the feedback loop back into our training material and product.

Business communities and partnerships

Identify, approach and sign business communities as recruitment partners — market and trade associations, cooperatives, artisan and services guilds, WhatsApp and Telegram seller groups, campus enterprise bodies.

Negotiate the terms of each partnership and run activations that convert: onboarding clinics, demo sessions, market walk-throughs, referral drives.

Keep every partnership tied to a measurable seller outcome, not goodwill, and maintain the pipeline and relationship records in Company systems.

Represent Shopnest credibly in front of community leaders and seller groups, in person and online.

Execution, measurement and reporting

Produce and coordinate the content this channel needs — recruitment creatives, ambassador toolkits, seller testimonials, short-form video for WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook — working with our design and marketing resources.

Track attribution honestly: every ambassador code, community campaign and partner link measured through to registered sellers, paying sellers and 90-day retention.

Report weekly on pipeline and monthly on the full scorecard, including cost per acquired paying seller.

Tell us what the field is actually saying about our pricing, product gaps and objections — we would rather hear it early than read it in churn.

HOW SUCCESS IS MEASURED

Two numbers, and nothing else. We keep the scorecard this short on purpose, so there is never an argument about what a good month looks like.

Revenue-producing ambassadors — an ambassador you recruited and certified who has brought in their first paying seller. Certification on its own does not count.

Paying sellers via ambassador codes — a seller who registered through an ambassador code and whose subscription payment has cleared.

Sign-ups, applications, certifications and activity do not count on their own — only cleared revenue does. Counts come from Shopnest''s own system records at month end, so there is nothing to dispute and nothing to self-report.

PROJECT MILESTONES

Month 1: Learn the product and the funnel, map the ambassador and community landscape, build the target list and the pitch. Milestone: channel plan and target list agreed, first ambassadors in the funnel.

Months 2–3: Recruit and certify ambassadors, sign community partnerships, run the first activations. Milestone: ambassadors certified and producing paying sellers every month.

Month 4: Repeat what converts, cut what does not, and write it down. Milestone: a written playbook someone else can run, and a channel producing paying sellers at a rate we can scale.

REVIEW AND TERMINATION

This is a results engagement, and we will be straight with you about how it is judged. At the end of every month we review the two numbers above together, alongside the milestone for that phase.

If the agreed results are not being delivered, the Company may end the engagement at any time on seven (7) days'' written notice, without any further obligation. You may end it on the same terms. Everything you have already earned up to that date is paid in full — nothing you have already produced is lost.

If the results are there, the reverse applies: we extend, and the project becomes a permanent role.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Essential

Demonstrable experience building or running a community, ambassador, agent or field-sales network in Nigeria — with numbers you can talk through.

Proven ability to recruit, train and hold accountable a distributed group of people who do not report to you.

Comfortable in the field: markets, associations, campuses and seller groups, with the credibility to open doors.

Practical digital marketing skills: content creation for social and messaging channels, campaign execution, basic analytics and attribution.

Numerate and self-managing — able to own a pipeline and a scorecard without being chased.

Excellent written and spoken English.

Advantageous

Strong command of at least one other widely spoken Nigerian language.

Existing relationships with trade associations, market unions, cooperatives or large seller communities.

Experience running a POS agent network, a distributor network, or a trade-marketing territory.

Experience selling a subscription product to small businesses, or working inside an early-stage startup where nothing was set up yet.

Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field — or equivalent demonstrated results.

WHY THIS ROLE IS WORTH TAKING

You build the channel yourself rather than inherit someone else''s. What works becomes the playbook, and it carries your name on it.

Direct access to the founder, short decisions, real budget authority within the project scope.
