Job Summary
We are looking for qualified and detail-oriented Coffee Quality Cupping Officers to evaluate coffee quality through standardized cupping procedures. The successful candidates will assess coffee aroma, flavor, acidity, body, and overall quality, identify defects, classify and grade coffee, and support quality assurance throughout the coffee supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate the aroma, flavor, acidity, body, and overall quality of coffee samples using standard cupping procedures.
Conduct coffee cupping sessions and prepare accurate cupping reports.
Identify coffee defects and recommend quality improvements.
Classify and grade coffee according to company and industry standards.
Maintain cupping equipment and ensure the cleanliness of the cupping laboratory.
Keep accurate records of cupping results and quality assessments.
Support quality assurance activities throughout the coffee supply chain.
Assist in maintaining consistent coffee quality and compliance with applicable quality standards.
Communicate quality findings and recommendations to relevant team members.
Educational Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in Coffee Quality, Agriculture, Food Science, or a related field is preferred.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience in coffee cupping or coffee quality control.
Required Skills
Calmness under pressure.
Quality assurance.
Strong attention to detail when evaluating coffee samples.
Ability to maintain accurate quality records and prepare reports.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in coffee export companies.
Familiarity with Ethiopian coffee grading standards and international coffee quality requirements.
Good command of English and Amharic.
