Job Summary

Child Safeguarding: Level 3 – the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.
Risk and Compliance: The role holder is required to carry out the duties in accordance with the SCI Fraud, Bribery, and Corruption policy and code of conduct. The key responsibilities include understanding and complying with the SCI policies and procedures, not committing any act of fraud, bribery, or corruption, understanding risks in their area/role, and implementing mitigation measures, report any suspected fraud, bribery, or corruption immediately, declare conflicts of interest in accordance with internal procedures and complete mandatory training related to ethics and anti-fraud measures.
Role Purpose: The position holder is responsible for Coordinate and facilitate implementation of activities and prepare weekly movement plan to TSFP distribution points, Moreover, He/she will Monitor implementation of TSFP program quality and Facilitate training and work closely with Woreda Health staffs at Health posts, Health center and district level. In addition, the position holder is also expected to provide consistent and high-quality technical support in integrating into other Nutrition and IYCF components. In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

Key Responsibilities
Makes sure that CMAM program is implemented according to the National protocol i.e. application of the admission and discharge criteria, closely monitors and strictly follows anthropometry measurement
Facilitates the trainings under the project
Makes sure that the health staff have adequate training on the management of acute malnutrition per National manual
Ensures the availability of job aids, reporting formats, therapeutic products and drugs for program implementation
Supports and liaise with the Woreda health office staffs and provide on the job training and capacity building where required
Working with the IYCF Officer, ensure CMAM beneficiaries are referred to IYCF services when required
Ensure adequate availability of all medical and food supplies for each distribution, input in to creation and maintenance of a monthly distribution plan and ensure stock is pre-positioned as planned with Nutrition project coordinator and logistics team
Undertake individual evaluations with the team
Creates and maintain relationship with local health and other authorities and try to link CMAM program with the existing health structure smoothly
Makes sure that health professionals from the health facilities to participate on the daily routine work for sustainability and smooth phase out strategy
Provides technical support and training where required to all team members, outreach team including health extension workers and community volunteers
Works and liaise with any local health workers to integrate the CMAM program from the start
Plan and organise OTP/SFP at designated distribution sites in liaison with nutrition coordinator
Organizes monthly report of SC/OTP/SFP/Community mobilization and report on time to the Project coordinator, and provide updates when needed
Coordinates the link of acute malnutrition cases with EOS/CBN/CHD/TSFP/PSNP and facilitates regular registration of Non-EOS beneficiaries and submits on monthly bases
Provides a monthly over view of drug items, SFP materials and wet ration stocks supplied to beneficiaries
Manages the stock levels of therapeutic products, drugs and all other materials and alert the logistics in a timely manner as more materials are required
Reports any problems in a timely manner to the project coordinator co-ordinator
Coaches and supervises the SFP, OTP, SC program officer
Upholds the image and values of SC at all times
Performs other related tasks as required
Control and facilitate vehicle movement within the project area in the field
Required Qualifications
BSc in Nursing, Human Nutrition/Food science and Nutrition, public Health and related Field.
Demonstrated skills in program planning, implementation and monitoring.
Demonstrated skills in peer group training, Training of Trainers and development of training materials.
Proficiency in spoken and written English and Local language.
Strong computer (Microsoft skills), all and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
Required Skills and Competencies
Experience & Skills (Essential)
Minimum three years working experience for Degree out of which two-years’ experience directly related to emergency health & nutrition related fields Knowledge, training and experience in IMAM and community mobilization/BCC
Desirable (if needed)
Position holders must have good interpersonal skills & excellent team player
Knowledge of the local language (Somali language) is asset and mandatory
