We are seeking an experienced and highly disciplined Chief Security Officer (CSO) to lead the security function of a fast-growing logistics and freight-forwarding company.
The ideal candidate should be a retired or serving-transitioning senior officer from the Nigerian Armed Forces, Military Personnel, Nigeria Police Force, or other recognized security/intelligence formation, with strong experience in corporate security, logistics/fleet security, investigations, intelligence and risk management. Similar Nigerian logistics-sector roles emphasize protection of cargo, warehouses, fleet assets and personnel, threat assessment, investigations and coordination with security agencies.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Retired/serving senior Military or Police Officer with verifiable service record.
Candidates from the Nigerian Army, Navy, Air Force or Nigeria Police Force are encouraged to apply.
Experience in Military Intelligence, Police Intelligence, Investigation, Operations or Security Command will be an advantage.
Minimum 8–10 years'' relevant security, military, police or intelligence experience, including substantial leadership experience.
Previous experience in logistics, transportation, haulage, freight forwarding, oil & gas, manufacturing or other asset-intensive environments is highly desirable.
Bachelor''s degree/HND in Security Management, Criminology, Law, Military/Strategic Studies, Business Administration or a related discipline.
Good understanding of Nigeria''s security environment and major transportation corridors.
Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation and report-writing skills.
High level of integrity, discipline, confidentiality and sound judgment.
Must be willing to travel to different operational locations when required.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)
The CSO will be assessed on:
Reduction in security incidents and asset losses.
Reduction in cargo theft, pilferage and fleet-related security incidents.
Emergency/security incident response time.
Effectiveness of security investigations and resolution of cases.
Compliance with security SOPs across locations.
Effectiveness of security personnel and outsourced security providers.
Quality and timeliness of security intelligence reports.
Effectiveness of route-risk assessments and fleet security measures.
Security awareness and training coverage.
Overall improvement in the company''s security and risk-control framework.
