Job Summary
The Chief Operations Officer is the execution engine of the company. This role owns all day-to-day operations and ensures the CEO’s strategy is implemented fully across HR, Finance, Supply Chain, IT, Quality, and Service Delivery.
We are looking for an operator, not a strategist on paper. You will run the business end-to-end, hold the team accountable with data, and close operational gaps without escalating to the CEO. This is NOT a shadow CEO role.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy Execution & Operational Ownership
Execute company and CEO strategies fully and on time, not only initiatives you prefer.
Take end-to-end ownership of operational efficiency across all departments. Identify lapses and fix them without CEO intervention.
Design, implement, and continuously improve SOPs, workflows, and systems to drive efficiency and reduce cost.
Team Leadership & Accountability
Lead and manage all department heads. Set clear KPIs and enforce accountability for results.
Address underperformance and manage disciplinary actions directly, fairly, and promptly. No enabling or shielding of erring staff.
Build a high-performance, disciplined culture focused on ownership and results.
Data-Driven Performance Management
Develop, track, and maintain dashboards and reports for all key operational metrics.
Use data to make decisions, identify problems early, and drive improvements.
Own budgeting, cost control, and resource optimization. Report key metrics to CEO and Board.
Governance & Organizational Structure
Understand, respect, and enforce organizational structure and reporting lines.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and industry standards.
Manage operational risk and implement mitigation strategies.
Stakeholder Management
Build strong internal alignment and maintain external relationships with clients, vendors, and partners.
Communicate operational status, risks, and wins to the CEO clearly and consistently.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Healthcare Management, or related field. MBA or Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in operations. At least 3-5 years in a senior operations leadership role as Head of Operations, COO, or General Manager.
Industry: Proven experience in healthcare, diagnostics, or other highly regulated, process-driven industry is a strong advantage.
Track Record: Demonstrated success in executing strategy, turning around inefficient operations, and delivering measurable business results.
Technical Skills: Hands-on experience developing dashboards, KPIs, and using data for decision making. Strong budgeting and financial oversight skills.
Tools: Proficient in MS Excel, ERP systems, and business intelligence tools.
