Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Male Chef to oversee food preparation and kitchen operations for employees, management, and guests.
The successful candidate will prepare high-quality meals while maintaining excellent standards of hygiene, safety, and kitchen organization.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of local and continental meals.
Plan daily menus and ensure meals are prepared and served on schedule.
Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation.
Manage kitchen ingredients, supplies, and food inventory.
Monitor portion sizes and minimize food wastage.
Ensure proper storage and handling of food items.
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, utensils, cooking equipment, and work areas.
Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
Monitor kitchen equipment and report faults or maintenance requirements.
Maintain records of food supplies and kitchen inventory.
Coordinate with kitchen assistants and other support staff.
Prepare meals for employees, management, and company guests when required.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum of 3 years’ proven experience as a Chef, preferably in a corporate, industrial, hotel, or similar environment.
Certificate or qualification in Catering, Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or a related field is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of Nigerian and continental cuisine.
Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen sanitation.
Ability to prepare meals for a large number of people.
Good knowledge of kitchen equipment and safe operating practices.
Basic practical knowledge of engineering and safe operation of kitchen equipment is required.
Ability to identify and report basic equipment faults and maintenance issues.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet meal schedules.
High level of cleanliness, discipline, reliability, and attention to detail.
