Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable, professional, safety-conscious, and well-presented Chauffeur to provide safe and comfortable transportation services for the hotel''s management, guests, clients, and authorized personnel.

The Chauffeur will be responsible for maintaining assigned vehicles in good operating condition, observing all traffic and safety regulations, planning efficient routes, and providing courteous and confidential service at all times.

The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent driving skills, knowledge of local routes, punctuality, discretion, and a strong commitment to vehicle and passenger safety.

Responsibilities

Safe transportation:

Transport hotel management, guests, clients, and authorized personnel safely and efficiently.

Observe all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and hotel transportation policies.

Practice defensive driving at all times.

Maintain appropriate speed and safe driving distances.

Ensure passengers are transported comfortably and professionally.

Exercise extra caution when transporting VIPs and senior management.

Vehicle maintenance & care:

Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles.

Check engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, tyre pressure, lights, battery, brakes, and other essential components.

Keep assigned vehicles clean, polished, and presentable at all times.

Ensure vehicles are serviced and maintained according to the manufacturer''s recommended schedule.

Report mechanical faults and maintenance requirements immediately.

Monitor fuel consumption and maintain accurate fuel records.

Ensure the vehicle has essential emergency equipment and tools.

Guest & Executive Service:

Provide courteous and professional service to hotel guests and executives.

Assist passengers with loading and unloading luggage when required.

Assist elderly, VIP, or mobility-challenged passengers where appropriate.

Maintain a professional appearance and courteous attitude.

Ensure passengers are comfortable throughout their journey.

Protect the privacy and confidentiality of passengers and their conversations.

Pick-up & drop-off services:

Pick up and drop off guests and authorized personnel at designated locations.

Provide airport, business, event, restaurant, and other transportation services as assigned.

Confirm pick-up times and locations before each trip.

Arrive at pick-up points early and avoid unnecessary delays.

Assist guests with luggage where required.

Confirm completion of trips and maintain appropriate trip records.

Route planning & local knowledge:

Plan efficient and safe routes based on destination, traffic, road conditions, and weather.

Maintain good knowledge of Aba and surrounding communities.

Stay informed about road closures, traffic congestion, construction, and alternative routes.

Use navigation systems or approved mobile navigation applications when necessary.

Avoid unnecessary delays and excessive mileage.

Record keeping:

Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks and trip records.

Record mileage, fuel purchases, destinations, passenger details where required, and maintenance activities.

Submit fuel and vehicle-related documentation as required.

Report accidents, traffic incidents, vehicle damage, or unusual occurrences promptly.

Maintain confidentiality of passenger and hotel information.

Vehicle security:

Ensure the assigned vehicle is securely parked when not in use.

Keep vehicle keys and documents secure.

Do not allow unauthorized persons to use the hotel vehicle.

Ensure vehicle registration, insurance, roadworthiness, and other required documents are valid.

Report any loss, theft, damage, or security concern immediately.

Emergency response:

Respond appropriately to vehicle breakdowns, accidents, and other emergencies.

Follow hotel procedures in the event of an accident or security incident.

Contact the appropriate emergency or support services when necessary.

Ensure passenger safety is the first priority during emergencies.

Report all incidents to the appropriate manager immediately.

Professional conduct:

Maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance.

Demonstrate punctuality, courtesy, patience, and respect toward guests and colleagues.

Maintain strict confidentiality regarding hotel guests, management, and company activities.

Do not discuss confidential information with unauthorized persons.

Avoid unauthorized stops, personal errands, or use of the vehicle.

Do not use alcohol or any substance that may impair driving ability while on duty.

Support to hotel operations:

Assist with approved hotel errands and transportation-related duties.

Support the hotel during conferences, weddings, corporate events, and other functions requiring transportation.

Assist with collection or delivery of authorized documents and items when required.

Cooperate with Front Office, Security, Administration, and Management to ensure smooth transportation services.

Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the General Manager or designated supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum of SSCE/WAEC/NECO or equivalent.

Valid Nigerian Driver''s Licence appropriate for the assigned vehicle.

3–5 years'' professional driving experience.

Previous experience as a Chauffeur, Executive Driver, Hotel Driver, Corporate Driver, or similar role is preferred.

Experience driving senior management, VIPs, hotel guests, or corporate clients is an advantage.

Good knowledge of Aba and surrounding areas, including major roads, business districts, hotels, airports, hospitals, and other key locations.

Clean driving record with no serious traffic violations.

Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.

Defensive driving or professional driving training is an added advantage.
