Job Purpose

The Business Development Manager will lead the identification, development and conversion of business opportunities across Autogig''s business portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth, securing corporate accounts, developing strategic partnerships and expanding the company''s market presence.

The role requires a strong commercial mindset, excellent negotiation skills, an established ability to develop client relationships and a proven track record of converting business opportunities into revenue.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development and Revenue Growth

Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with Autogig''s corporate objectives and revenue targets.

Identify new markets, customer segments and commercial opportunities across vehicle sales, fleet management, leasing, aftersales services, spare parts and technical training.

Proactively identify, engage and convert prospective corporate and institutional clients.

Develop and manage a structured sales pipeline, from lead generation and qualification to proposal submission, negotiation and contract closure.

Prepare annual business development plans, sales forecasts and revenue projections.

Identify opportunities to cross-sell and upsell Autogig''s products and services to existing customers.

Corporate Sales and Key Account Acquisition

Identify and secure business opportunities with large corporations, SMEs, government institutions, development organisations and other institutional clients.

Develop relationships with decision-makers, procurement teams, fleet managers, operations directors, HR leaders and other relevant stakeholders.

Drive the acquisition of corporate vehicle sales contracts, fleet management mandates, vehicle leasing agreements and aftersales service contracts.

Develop customised commercial solutions that address clients'' vehicle acquisition, maintenance, fleet operations and mobility requirements.

Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to encourage repeat business, contract renewals and referrals.

Strategic Partnerships and Market Expansion

Develop strategic partnerships with automotive manufacturers, dealerships, fleet operators, financial institutions, insurers, logistics companies and other relevant organisations.

Identify opportunities for joint ventures, channel partnerships, service agreements and other commercially viable collaborations.

Monitor market developments, customer needs and competitor activities to identify opportunities for expansion.

Recommend new products, services and business models that can strengthen Autogig''s market position and profitability.

Proposal Development and Commercial Negotiations

Prepare business proposals, quotations, presentations, expressions of interest and commercial offers.

Lead client engagements, presentations and commercial negotiations to secure profitable contracts.

Work with relevant internal departments to develop competitive pricing, service offerings and contract terms.

Evaluate business opportunities based on revenue potential, profitability, operational capacity and commercial risk.

Coordinate with the relevant teams to ensure a smooth transition from contract award to service delivery.

Fleet Management, Leasing and Aftersales Business

Identify companies with vehicle acquisition, fleet outsourcing, maintenance and leasing requirements.

Develop opportunities for fleet management outsourcing, preventive maintenance contracts, vehicle rental and operational or finance lease arrangements.

Promote Autogig''s aftersales capabilities, including vehicle servicing, repairs, genuine spare parts and fleet maintenance solutions.

Develop tailored mobility and fleet solutions for corporate customers.

Work with the operations and fleet management teams to ensure that proposed solutions are commercially viable and operationally deliverable.

Training and Technical Services Business Development

Identify opportunities for corporate technical training, workforce development and automotive skills programmes through Autogig Academy.

Develop partnerships with automotive companies, fleet operators, technical institutions and other organisations requiring technical skills development.

Secure corporate training contracts, sponsored training programmes and other commercially viable training opportunities.

Collaborate with the training team to align programme offerings with industry demand.

Business Performance and Reporting

Establish and maintain an effective customer relationship management (CRM) and sales pipeline tracking process.

Monitor sales performance, contract acquisition, revenue generation, conversion rates and client retention.

Prepare regular business development reports, market intelligence updates and sales forecasts for management.

Track progress against agreed targets and implement corrective actions where necessary.

Ensure accurate documentation of client engagements, proposals, contracts and commercial commitments.

Qualifications and Experience

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor''s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Sales, Engineering or a related discipline.

An MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.

Professional certifications in sales, marketing, business development or strategic management will be beneficial.

Work Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in business development, B2B sales, corporate sales, key account management or commercial management.

Demonstrable success in acquiring corporate clients, negotiating contracts and achieving revenue targets.

Experience in the automotive, fleet management, vehicle leasing, logistics, engineering, mobility or related industries will be a strong advantage.

Experience preparing commercial proposals, managing sales pipelines and negotiating high-value contracts.

A proven ability to build relationships with senior executives, procurement professionals and institutional decision-makers.

Required Skills and Competencies

Strong business development, prospecting and consultative selling skills.

Excellent negotiation, presentation and relationship management capabilities.

Strong commercial awareness and understanding of revenue, margins and profitability.

Ability to identify, qualify and convert high-value business opportunities.

Excellent proposal writing and commercial presentation skills.

Strong analytical, planning and sales forecasting capabilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and CRM tools.

Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet demanding targets.

High standards of professionalism, integrity, accountability and results orientation.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

The successful candidate will be assessed against agreed business targets, including:

Revenue growth:

Achievement of assigned revenue targets across Autogig''s business divisions.

New client acquisition:

Number and commercial value of new corporate accounts secured.

Contract conversion:

Conversion rate of qualified opportunities and submitted proposals into signed contracts.

Sales pipeline:

Value, quality and coverage of qualified business opportunities.

Profitability:

Contribution margins and commercial viability of secured contracts.

Strategic partnerships:

Number and commercial value of partnerships established.

Client retention:

Contract renewals, repeat business and growth of existing accounts.

Business diversification:

Revenue generated from new services, customer segments and market opportunities.

Specific targets will be agreed with management in line with the company''s annual business plan.
