JOB SUMMARY

The Building Administrator is responsible for overseeing the daily operational management, physical maintenance, security, and facility administration of company properties within the designated district. This mid-level position ensures that building facilities, utilities, leased spaces, and amenities operate efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with local regulatory standards. Acting as the primary point of contact for tenants, maintenance contractors, and regional management, the Building Administrator manages facility budgets, coordinates repairs, supervises onsite service personnel, and maintains optimal operational readiness across all assigned district premises.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee day-to-day building operations, facilities management, and administrative functions for district facilities.

Coordinate and supervise routine preventive maintenance, structural repairs, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC servicing with internal staff and external contractors.

Manage lease agreements, tenant onboarding, space allocation, and address occupant inquiries, concerns, or service requests promptly.

Inspect building premises regularly to identify safety hazards, maintenance needs, cleanliness standards, and physical security vulnerabilities.

Enforce health, safety, fire prevention, and environmental compliance policies across all building areas and operations.

Monitor district utility consumption, property expenses, vendor invoices, and assist in preparing facility operational budgets.

Supervise janitorial, security, landscaping, and technical maintenance personnel to ensure high standards of work performance.

Maintain accurate administrative documentation, including lease contracts, maintenance logs, inspection reports, inventory records, and vendor agreements.

Manage facility emergency procedures, disaster recovery protocols, and respond to after-hours building emergencies when required.

POSITION DETAILS

Job Location: Dire Dawa District / Shashemene District

Experience Level: Intermediate (3 to 5 years)

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor''s degree or Diploma in Property Management, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Public Administration, or a related field.

3 to 5 years of intermediate-level experience in building administration, property management, facilities supervision, or real estate operations.

Solid knowledge of building systems, physical plant maintenance, safety codes, and local real estate/lease regulations.

Strong organizational, vendor management, and contract administrative skills.

Good written and verbal communication skills in English and local working languages.

Proficiency in computer software, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel) and facilities management software.

Strong problem-solving ability, negotiation skills, and aptitude for conflict resolution.

Willingness and flexibility to oversee properties across assigned district locations.

PREFERRED SKILLS

Prior experience managing commercial, administrative, or multi-site branch buildings.

Technical understanding of electromechanical building infrastructure and basic maintenance diagnostics.

Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage budgets, and handle emergency situations effectively.
