Job Summary
We are a fast-growing customs clearing and freight forwarding company based in Addis Ababa. We are seeking a motivated, energetic, and reliable
Assistant Transistor
to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will support our Senior Transistors in handling customs documentation, coordinating with port authorities, and facilitating the smooth and efficient clearance of import/export shipments.
Key Responsibilities
Documentation Support:
Assist in preparing, organizing, and submitting required customs declarations, import/export permits, and shipping documents.
Field Operations:
Travel to customs offices, Bole International Airport, dry ports (such as Modjo), and other relevant government agencies to submit paperwork and follow up on cargo status.
Cargo Inspection:
Assist senior transit officers during the physical examination, valuation, and verification of goods by customs officials.
Logistics & Delivery Coordination:
Help coordinate with transport providers, warehouse teams, and drivers to ensure cargo is safely loaded and dispatched after customs clearance.
Errand Execution:
Use the company or personal vehicle to quickly shuttle documents, payments, and bank permits between clients, banks, and customs stations.
Record Keeping:
Maintain neat and accurate physical and digital files of all completed customs declarations and clearance receipts.
About You
Qualifications and Requirements
Education
Grade 12 completion certificate or above
(Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related business field is an advantage).
License:
Must possess a
valid and clean Ethiopian Driving License
(Automobile or Dry Cargo/Public field license)
is a plus
.
Experience
Prior experience working as an assistant or runner for an import/export or customs clearing agent is highly preferred but not mandatory.
Skills
Basic understanding of Ethiopian customs clearance processes and procedures.
Strong communication skills in Amharic (English language skill is a plus).
Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and handle outdoor fieldwork actively.
High integrity, honesty, and punctuality.
