About the Organization

Menschen fuer Menschen Foundation is a nongovernmental, nonreligious and nonpartisan humanitarian organization involved in Integrated Rural Development activities. It wishes to invite applicants with the following qualification and experience for Gofa and Boreda Integrated Rural Development Project (IRDP).

Job Summary

Position: Accountant

Language: A good command of spoken & written English

Salary: Negotiable

Terms of Employment: Yearly renewable contract

Duty Station: Boreda IRDP (Gamo Zone, Boreda District); Gofa IRDP (Gofa Zone, Sawila town)

Required Qualifications

BA/BSc or Diploma in Accounting

Minimum of 3 years' or 5 years' experience in accounting works

NGO experience is advantageous

Required Skills and Competencies

Computer literacy and IT skills with practical experience in accounting software such as Peachtree Accounting

Teamwork

Communication

Accounting

Key Responsibilities

Handling checks payments and collections

Preparing check payment vouchers and checks

Keeping the register updated and the balance as well

Reconciling bank statement with registers

Preparing monthly financial report

Maintain up-to-date record of accounts using accounting software
