Job Summary
The Head of Accounts is responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, statutory compliance, tax administration, and internal financial controls.
The role ensures accurate financial records, supports strategic decision-making, and safeguards the company’s financial assets.Applicants residing in Apapa or closer proximity is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting and financial reporting activities of the company.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure timely bank reconciliations and reconciliation of all general ledger accounts.
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
Prepare and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
Ensure compliance with tax laws, including VAT, WHT, PAYE, CIT, and other statutory obligations.
Coordinate external audits and respond to audit queries.
Develop and implement sound accounting policies and internal control systems.
Monitor cash management, banking relationships, and treasury functions.
Review financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Prepare management reports and financial analysis to support business decisions.
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance of accounting staff.
Ensure proper documentation and safe custody of financial records.
Liaise with regulatory agencies, auditors, banks, and other stakeholders.
Support business planning, investment analysis, and cost control initiatives.
Monitor inventory valuation and accounting for petroleum products and lubricants where applicable.
Ensure daily sales reconciliation from filling stations or depots and investigate any variances.
Requirements
Interested candidates should possess an HND / Bachelor''s / Master''s Degree with 5 - 8 years work experience.
