The manager’s role is to optimize logistics efficiency , enhance customer satisfaction and revenue improvement through effective planning operations and interfacing with stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and coordinate the transportation of goods , container loading/ unloading , routing port scheduling in adherence to global standardsOptimize logistics process in shipment bookings , route planning, container usage , coordinate and tracking of container movementsManages safe , efficient and balanced capacity aspects of FCL,LCL, consolidation , scheduling multi-modal transport integration of shipmentsPlan efficient routes and reduce transit time expensesEnsuring compliance of applicable regulations , port authority regulations and environmental safety standardsMaintain timely communication , resolving conflicts and service level agreementsMonitor freight charges/costs , demurrage / dispatch charges and profitabilityManage budgets and negotiate contracts with shipping carriers and vendorsEnsure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including customs and import/export requirements.Strategize new trade routes, strategic partnershipsEnsure shipping and transportation documentation accuracy and regulatory complianceEnforce strong and strict compliance with international trade laws, customs regulations and procedures, documentations at both import and export endsDevelop shipment status , KPIs and department performance reports for executive management review and decisionsTrack shipments and update internal databases with tracking information.Communicate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to resolve shipping issues and ensure smooth delivery of productsEnsure compliance with shipping industry regulations and company policies and stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in shipping and logisticsTeam Leadership & DevelopmentSupervise and train shipping employees, providing guidance and performance feedbackDevelop and implement shipping policies and procedures to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.Act as a liaison between management, carriers, and shipping customers.Collaborate with internal departments to optimize the flow of orders from preparation to shipmentPerformance Monitoring & ReportingEvaluate carrier performance and resolve issues with orders and logisticsDocument processes and report to management as requiredReview and analyze shipping data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actionsWork environmentOffice based with frequent visits to clientsBenefitsCommission based on met KPIs or performance based incentives |
