Requirnment INTRODUCTIONFH Ethiopia in partnership with Canadian Food grains Bank (CFGB) & Mennonite Central Committee Ethiopia (MCCE) have been working with Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) to support conservation agriculture adoption in Ethiopia. This has included participating in the development of the training and extension materials, providing trainings and exposure visits for government staff to learn about conservation agriculture and its potential for Ethiopia, and co-facilitating national and regional conferences and workshops on conservation agriculture. There is now high-level support for conservation agriculture in Ethiopia to provide training for farmers on conservation agriculture. 2. PROJECT DESCRIPTION Currently, FH Ethiopia started the implementation of a project funded by the David and Lucile Packard Foundation through CFGB and MCCE to further support the government engagement and capacity building work on conservation Agriculture in Oromia Region. A core component of this project is to conduct Conservation Agriculture (CA) Master trainings to build the capacity of government agriculture experts in Oromia Region who will then further train farmers on conservation agriculture principles and practices.  In this regard FH Ethiopia will provide CA technical capacity building training for master trainers. Whereas FH Ethiopia is looking for external consultant/trainers who can provide “TOT on Adult Facilitation Skill” for Master trainers. 3. PROJECT GOAL AND OBJECTIVESThe goal of the project is that farmers in the target zones and woredas adopted and practicing conservation agriculture through built capacity of agriculture experts in 25 Woredas in four zones of Oromia region. The project aiming to achieve the following three objectives:Strengthening the capacity of woreda agriculture experts in the target zones of Oromia Region to further scaling up of conservation agriculture. Strengthening the level of support for conservation agriculture within the target woredas agriculture sector in Oromia, andEnhancing the gender sensitivity of conservation agriculture extension workers.4. KEY TASKSThe detailed key tasks of this consultancy work are indicated as the following:  Conduct “TOT on Adult Facilitation Skill” to Master trainees who will be trained on CA to deliver adaptive, participatory, gender-sensitive learning experiences and associated technologies in Oromia region.  Build the capacity of master trainees selected from agriculture offices of the region and equip with required “Adult Facilitation Skill” on CA promotion.Prepare final reports on the overall trainings and submit to FH Ethiopia within a week time after completion of the TOT.Compile the resource materials used for the training and provide for participants and coordinators at the end of each round of training. FH will cover the duplication cost. Travel to the training sites and conduct TOT.Consulting Firm Required Educational Background, Skills, and Experience:The selected consultant must have a strong analytical background with experience in conducting similar assignments on adult facilitation skill training preferably for agriculture experts. In addition, she/he should fulfill the following qualifications:Advanced/master’s degree on Adult Education or related field of studies,A minimum professional experience of seven years and above, specially, in designing curriculum and/or training manuals, conducting TOTs and adult facilitation skill of similar trainings,Experiences on conducting similar trainings for government/NGO experts especially for agriculture or related sector, Recommendations/witnesses that testify the competencies.Core competencies:Ability to work independently, Ability to produce high quality outputs in a timely manner,Demonstrates integrity by modeling ethical standards,Displays cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability,Sound judgement, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage competing priorities,LANGUAGE:Excellent written and spoken English and Amharic languages. Ability to speak, lesson, write and read of Afan Oromo language is mandatory.
